Pronto celebrates major milestone in providing coatings to UK industry
During recent weeks, Pronto marked a special anniversary – our 35th birthday!
Back in 1989, Pronto Industrial Paints founder Terry Harris spotted the opportunity for one coat finishes and established the business in Chesterfield.
Company folklore states that the very first customer orders were made in a barrel and stirred by hand with a chair leg.
“Everything starts and ends with our customers and some of them really have been with us since the beginning” says managing director David Beckford.
“Our core markets have developed to include structural steel, waste container, line-marking and modular buildings, with more than 300 products now available for almost all applications”.
Pronto maintains a steadfast commitment to personal service and have innovated to such an extent that chair legs are no longer needed in the production process!
Pronto’s major milestones include
- Becoming a limited company in 1994
- Relocating to a purpose-built 20,000 square foot facility in 1998
- Increasing to our now 81,000 square feet across three sites in 2019
- And winning three BCF Coatings Care award wins in 2003, 2008, 2011.
“In that time, we’ve invested significant sums in new equipment to improve our processes, allowing us to increase our total capacity to over 36,000 litres a day,” David adds.
